Nelson Mandela gave 67 years of his life to the people of South Africa. Leading up to Mandela Day, we are asking you to give R67, and in doing so, declare what legacy means to you.

The GCC Foundation works in the deep south of Cape Town, walking alongside young people through mentorship, teacher development and community skills pathways. We believe every young person deserves the chance to become who they were created to be.
This Mandela Day, that belief needs your voice behind it. Every contribution counts towards something larger than itself. A dignity bag reaches a young person who needs to know they matter. That is the chain we are building with one act of kindness at a time.
In partnership with LongBeach Mall, we are collecting essential care items and contributions to fill at least 67 dignity bags for the young people we serve in Ocean View. If you are in Cape Town, you can join in by purchasing or donating items directly at LongBeach Mall in Noordhoek or you can join in online by giving below and becoming part of the movement. On 18 July, our young men and young women will give back by helping distribute bags and create a meal chain in the community. Your R67 is what makes it possible.
"I never thought something as small as a bar of soap could make me feel seen. It told me that someone out there, someone I have never met, chose me. That is what dignity feels like. It feels like someone decided you are worth showing up for."
LongBeach Mall in Noordhoek has partnered with GCC Foundation to make this campaign tangible. Their Centre Court has become the collection point for essential care items — soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, face cloths, lotion, deodorant — that will be packed into dignity bags for the young people we serve in Ocean View.
If you are shopping at LongBeach Mall between now and 18 July, all it takes is one extra item in your basket. Drop it at the Centre Court collection box. That is it. Your shopping trip becomes an act of legacy.
